Hyderabad is growing as a major investment destination, as the state government’s major focus is to bring development in all the corners of the city, especially the Hyderabad-Vijayawada highway. Of all the development and industrial policies launched, logistics has been one of the key players. Because of the growing demand for logistics and operations, the state has decided to build 11 logistic parks all across the state. The first integrated logistics park was launched at Mangalapally, spread across 22 acres, and is all set for commercial operations. With this, Telangana also created history as the park happens to be the first one in India to be developed in a PPP (public-private partnership) mode. Speaking of employment opportunities, it will employ nearly 3,000 people directly or indirectly, who will receive training at the Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge (TASK).

Facilities and infrastructure:

The park built in a massive area, includes parking lots (for 250 trucks), warehouses (at 1 lakh sq ft), cold storage (for 5,000 MT), office complexes for operators (built at 5,000 sq ft), automobile service centers (5,000 sq ft), and employee dormitories (for 100 persons). The park also hosts several restaurants, commercial spaces, fuel stations, and primary health centres. Efficient logistics management, immediate help, and facilities for truck drivers and service providers are its primary features. The facility has about 4000 tonnes turn-around capacity and will be mostly used for pharmaceuticals, e-commerce, electronics, and household appliances.

KTR, the Minister of Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister (MA&UD), was present at the inaugural event and also tweeted saying that 10 other logistic parks are already in the plan. He wrote: “Inaugurated the first logistics park developed in PPP mode by @HMDA_Gov & Ancon Logistics Ltd at Mangalpalli in Ibrahimpatnam constituency along with Education minister Sabita Indra Reddy Garu & MLA Kishan Reddy Garu. This is the first in the 10 logistics parks planned around ORR.”

Intending to build the ‘Next Gachibowli,’ the state government is also planning to build more IT parks, pharmacy offices, and residency buildings – all near the Hyderabad-Vijayawada highway. Besides these developments, the government is striving to make this area more accessible. In order to do that, interchange bus systems are under construction and other transport facilities will be soon set up.
